The Old Fox Band

The Old Fox Band has been playing for ceilidhs and providing musical entertainment for over 25 years.

The current line up has been together for 10 years and includes:

Nigel Hall (founder member) playing mandolin, guitar, bouzouki, mandola and banjo,

Pete Thompson (founder member of Magenta) playing guitar, whistle, fiddle, mandolin and mandola, and vocals,

Jill Elliot (fiddle, vocals and caller)

Vanessa Moore - (fiddles and vocals)

Chris Reid on accordion

The fee to hire the full band is £400 plus caller.

Two's Company

Ian Bryden on melodeon and Jill Elliot on fiddle/calling.  Great for smaller venues for a barn dance or when on a tighter budget for musical entertainment.   Fee £200 plus travelling expenses.

On Tap Band

Current band members include Jill Elliot on fiddle and vocals, Chris Brady on guitar, Chris Reynolds on mandolin and mandola, Pete Thompson playing all of the above instruments and singing!  We occasionally have the pleasure of being joined by Joe Brady (finalist in 2008 Traditional Young Musican of the Year National Awards) on whistle and flute.  (Pictured with flute is Conor Gallagher who has moved back to Ireland).  Fees are dependant upon whether we play acoustically or are amplified, travelling distance and number in the band.  As a guide, the full band playing acoustically in North Somerset or Bristol for 2 x 45 minute sets would be £400.

Dicey Rileys

The Dicey Rileys are Cliff and Claire from Belfast - who sing and play as a duet and also team up with Jill on fiddle.  The music is ideal as lively entertainment in a pub or club.  Cliff has a host of amusing anecdotes to help the evening go with a swing - and has a large repetoire of traditional songs plus some that have been more recently composed.  Cliff and Claire also play various instruments to accompany their songs - guitar, mandolin, mandola, mouth organ.   To book the Dicey Rileys please ring Cliff on 0753 176 9878.

Little Fox Band

Smaller version of the Old Fox Dance Band, this is a three piece band - Jill Elliot, Nigel Hall and Pete Thompson -providing songs and traditional music for musical evenings or live background music.   We can also include calling for dancing.  The fee for the amplified 3 piece band is £300.
